Begin the journey from Guwahati, heading to Tura, a picturesque town nestled amidst the hills of Meghalaya.The day concludes with an overnight stay in Tura, setting the stage for the adventures ahead.
Explore Daribokgre Village and immerse yourself in vibrant cultural performances by the Garo community. Take a guided trek to Nokrek for birdwatching and a deep dive into Meghalaya's diverse ecosystem. Delight in an authentic Garo lunch, perfectly complemented by locally brewed beverages.
Visit a remote village in Meghalaya’s South Garo district to work alongside our Garo engineers in implementing clean energy solutions. Engage with the local community to support impactful installations, celebrate the success with a traditional cultural show, and return to your hotel inspired by the day’s meaningful experiences.
Head to Darengre Fish Sanctuary and savor a traditional breakfast at Darengre Village with a guide. Continue your adventure with a thrilling 4x4 camper ride through rugged terrain to Wari Chora Base Camp, followed by a 45-minute downhill trek via steep wooden steps to Wari Chora Canyon. Enjoy a paddle boat ride through the canyon and refresh under a cascading waterfall.
Begin your day with a guided trek through Siju Caves, equipped with safety gear and headlamps to explore its captivating limestone formations. Visit the Siju Bird Sanctuary for birdwatching and spot a variety of exquisite species. Conclude by exploring the unique rock formations around Siju before heading to Nongstoin.
Travel from Nongstoin to Shillong and check into your hotel. Visit Mawphlang Sacred Forest, rich in Khasi traditions, and admire the beauty of Elephant Falls. If time allows, explore the Archery Ground, where the traditional Khasi game Siat Khnam is tied to the daily Teer lottery system.
After breakfast, we drive to Cherrapunjee. First, we visit the Seven Sisters Waterfalls, a stunning series cascading down a rugged cliff. Next is Nohkalikai Falls, one of the world’s tallest waterfalls, surrounded by lush rainforests. We then explore the Mawsmai Cave, with unique stalactites and stalagmites. Afterward, we relax at the Garden of Caves, a serene spot with caves, waterfalls, and pools. Finally, we discover the Arwah Cave, known for its limestone formations and fossils.
After breakfast, we drive to Mawlynnong, known for its cleanliness and eco-friendly practices. Highlights include the Riwai Root Bridge, Sky View Point, and the Balancing Rock. The village itself is a model of sustainability. Later, we visit Dawki to see the crystal-clear Umgot River and enjoy a boat ride, weather permitting. The road to Dawki is under renovation with some potholes.
After a breakfast check out from hotel and drive towards Guwahati airport to board flight for your onward journey.
The expedition to install 10 clean cookstoves, each offsetting 3.5 tons of carbon per year, will collectively offset 35 tons of carbon.
Our estimates indicate that the entire 9-day expedition’s carbon footprint, including emissions from camping, hotel stays, and participants' return flights, will be approximately 26.5 tons.
