The 5-Day Basic Solar Technician Training for Women in Tura, West Garo Hills, aimed to equip women with technical skills in solar energy, fostering new livelihood opportunities in the growing renewable energy sector. With a focus on hands-on learning, the training empowered 25 women, primarily children of domestic workers, to become skilled solar technicians..

Here’s a glimpse of their journey through the training.

 First Step of Registration

The journey begins with the registration of women trainees, each taking their first step towards becoming a certified solar technician.

A Well-Focused Group

A dedicated group of 25 women, aged 18-35, all from the Tura Area and primarily children of domestic workers, determined to build a career in solar energy.

Tough Theory Sessions

Interactive sessions covering solar technology fundamentals, delivered in English, Hindi, and their mother tongue, Garo, ensuring inclusive learning.

Exciting Practical Training

Hands-on experience in assembling and maintaining solar systems. The trainees enthusiastically took part on tasks designed to improve their practical skills, gaining confidence through practice.

Food For A Thought

A moment of joy and camaraderie as the trainees share a meal, building friendships and supporting each other on their learning journey.

Certification Exam

On the final day, the trainees took an assessment to test their learning and technical skills, a crucial step towards earning their certification.

Career Counseling

As the final step in their training, the women participated in a career counseling session designed to help them explore opportunities in the growing solar energy sector.

Certificate Distribution

The trainees receive guidance on the growing solar energy sector, followed by a proud moment as they are awarded their certificates.
